Information on the "Internet Movie Database (IMDb)." (22 Films listed; almost all are Russian-language films from the '90's)
Notes:
In the late 1990's, films such as
An Ordinary President,
Fear,
Agreement with Hitler (about painters in contemporary Mensk),
and others are being made and distributed--but not through the Belarusian state distribution and screening system. Copies of these movies are often passed around on videocassettes (both in Belarus and elsewhere), much as books were passed around in manuscript form in the days of the USSR--regrettably for very similar reasons.
Several Belarusian-language videos can be ordered from Krajavid Kniharnia. (As of November, 1999, the several listed there appear to be produced in other countries--most are animated features, and were then dubbed into Belarusian.)
