Leader of the Belarusian National Republic Rada calls on Belarusians to take to the streets on March 25

Minsk, 6 March. Ivonka Survilla, chairwoman of the Rada (Council) of the Belarusian National Republic (BNR), Belarus' . . . government in exile, has called on the Belarusians to take to the streets on March 25 to observe Freedom Day. The holiday is celebrated on an anniversary of the proclamation of the BNR in 1918.

In her appeal, Ms. Survilla expressed concern about the Belarusians' future. She says that Freedom Day "is our greatest holiday, the day of pride, because on this day the people informed the world that they want to be free and independent after long-time bondage."

Ms. Survilla believes that Belarus is now in danger. "...Putin and Lukashenko, with the help of lies and police force try to make you serve again 'the strategic interests' of the Russian empire.... But the only result of this corrupt policy will be your impoverishment and your complete destruction as a nation and a people," says the statement.

The BNR Rada "does its best to help Belarus live through the current crisis and come out an independent, free and wealthy country. But we will not save our fatherland without your participation. You should also show the world that you know the value of freedom, that you do not want to be a tool of the Moscow imperialism and spill your blood for it."
