Uladzimir Dudzicki
1910-?
His real name was Uladzimir
Hutska. He was born in a village called Dudzichy (not far from Mensk).
September, 1930 he was accepted into Ignatousky Pedagogical Institute of
Mensk, from which he was soon expelled as a ''natsdem''. February 23,
1933 he was arrested by NKVD and sent to jail. After nine months of interrogation,
he was sent to Sibir for three years. After being freed, he returned to
Belarus, not being able to find a job for a long time. Before World War
II he began to work as a teacher of Belarusian language. During the war
he continued living in Mensk, writing articles, poetry and prose. In 1944
he moved to Berlin, Germany, after which he moved to Venezuella. He worked
at the radio station ''Svaboda'' in Munich, Germany. In 1961, he emigrated
to the United States of America. The date of the death of Dudzicki is still unknown.
Many think that in the 1970's he visited the Soviet Union. Be this so or
not, he disappeared.
Dudzicki began to write in
1937, and his works were printed in a variety of papers and magazines,
although his works were never collected in book form. The book published
by BINIM is a relatively complete collection of works of the Belarusian
