Caveat: When referring to Web sites discussing people born in Belarus, you may be surprised to find no mention of Belarusian culture, language, or other aspects of Belarusian identity (including--according to such Web sites--that no famous person born in Belarus was actually Belarusian!). These authors seem so preoccupied with the past victimization (real or imagined) of their own cultures, they apparently do not realize the destructiveness they continue to inflict on others. In short, it is doubtful you will receive an objective portrayal of personal identity or historical or cultural events, if they took place in the historical and linguistic territory of Belarus.
