"(Also "Yefimi" Karski) Foremost philologist of Belarus, author of the monumental Biełarusy (The Belarusans), a detailed documentation and description of Belarusan language and literature in three volumes (seven parts) published in 1903-1922."
"A graduate of Nezhin Historical and Philological Institute (1885), Karski authored more than 700 works in Slavic studies (including Russian and Ukrainian), primarily on the history of Belarusan language and literature. Some of his studies were in ethnography, paleography, and folklore."
"After obtaining a professorship, he taught at the University of Warsaw, of which he was president in 1905-1910."
